Planet Technologies, a leading Microsoft services provider for the public sector, is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our expanding team as a Power Platform Strategist. In this position, you will support meaningful projects that positively impact the nation.

The West Region team is looking for someone whose expertise spans Power Platform development, business-focused solution design, and the human side of technology. The ideal candidate will likely have experience as a Power Platform developer who naturally thinks like a business analyst. They approach challenges with adaptability and confidence, relying on strong problem‑solving skills to navigate unfamiliar or complex situations and help the team succeed.

Essential Functions
• Serve as both a strategic and technical leader for all Power Platform efforts.
• Develop and oversee technical strategies for Power Platform projects and clearly communicate these to leadership and project teams.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the Power Platform ecosystem and use that expertise to guide clients through visioning, strategy, governance, and relationship-building.
• Coordinate cross-functional project strategies with cloud engineering, modern workplace, development, and security teams.
• Advocate for a strong citizen‑developer culture by aligning Power Platform work with IT transformation and organizational change management.
• Identify skill gaps and coach team members to strengthen current practices.
• Share insights across Planet Technologies divisions to enhance our overall Power Platform capabilities.
• Work within Pacific or Mountain time zones.

A mature technical and functional consultant who:
• Meets with clients for discovery, planning, design, training, and enablement.
• Can both perform and guide others through solution design, development, and implementation.
• Conducts solution envisioning, requirements analysis, and fit/gap assessments.
• Defines strategies for security, compliance, data migration, and application lifecycle management.
• Builds solutions using out‑of‑the‑box features, custom development, or third‑party tools.
• Works across the full development lifecycle from planning to maintenance.
• Balances best practices with client needs.
• Produces clear and accurate documentation.

Strategic and Technical Leadership
• 5–7+ years of experience in Power Platform development and consulting.
• Takes ownership of a team’s technical delivery, regardless of who performs the work.
• Proactively identifies gaps and coaches team members.
• Delegates work appropriately and communicates changes in technical needs.
• Understands risk and can escalate issues effectively.
• Can articulate and advocate for a technical vision and required team resources.

Consulting Skills Required
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once.

• Shows initiative and meets deadlines consistently.
• Can adapt when project conditions become hectic.
• Understands personal knowledge limits but can still navigate challenging conversations.

• Builds trust through actions and can explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Technical Abilities
• Strong skills in evaluating business needs, researching solutions, and providing technical recommendations.
• Uses structured business analysis methods and classic BA tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and modeling tools.
• Comfortable analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data; formal BA training is a plus.
• Deep functional and technical expertise across the Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents.
• Skilled with Dataverse, on‑premise data sources, data gateways, connectors, and custom connectors.
• Familiar with Dataflows, PowerQuery ETL, and the Common Data Model.
• Experience with SQL, XML, JSON, and Azure App Registrations.
• Able to work with solutions and Azure DevOps pipelines across multiple environments.
• Understands Microsoft licensing for Power Platform products.
• Proven proficiency in PL‑600 and PL‑200; additional certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, DevOps, or security are beneficial.
• Experience with Microsoft and related technologies such as .NET, C#, Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, JavaScript, FetchXML, and development tools like XRMToolBox and VSCode.
• Can read and write data using SOAP and REST APIs, including private APIs through Data Gateway and Azure Key Vault authentication.
• Possesses transferable development skills suitable for non‑Power Platform projects.
• Able to create visually appealing presentations and documentation.

Other Requirements
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to work with state and local government agencies.
• Travel up to 25%.
• Must be able to work Pacific Time hours.
