About xAI

xAI’s mission is to build AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and support humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. Our team is small, intensely motivated, and committed to engineering excellence. We are looking for people who enjoy challenging themselves and who thrive on curiosity. The organization is structured in a flat hierarchy. Everyone is expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission. Leadership is earned by individuals who take initiative and consistently deliver outstanding results. Strong work ethic and effective prioritization are essential. Engineers are also expected to communicate clearly and effectively, sharing knowledge with teammates in a concise and accurate way.

About the Role

As an AI Tutor specializing in memes and headline commentary for the X platform, you will help advance xAI’s mission by training and refining Grok to better understand social media behavior—such as viral trends, memes, and user interactions. Your work will enable Grok to recognize and handle entertaining social content more effectively, including identifying memes, understanding trolling strategies, and analyzing what drives posts to spread quickly. Ultimately, this will make Grok more attuned to real-time online conversations and user habits.

Responsibilities

You will use proprietary software to generate labels, annotations, and inputs for projects involving X posts, memes, and viral interactions. You must support the creation of high-quality curated data that captures the core of platform-specific humor and trends. You will work with technical staff to design tasks that improve AI’s ability to recognize and analyze memes, trolling, and the mechanisms behind virality. You will also collaborate with technical staff to enhance annotation tools.
