**Job Description**
Support Veterans through patient scheduling, appointment coordination, and healthcare administrative services within an integrated outpatient healthcare setting. As a Medical Scheduler / Medical Administrative Assistant, you will help ensure patient access, support medical scheduling, manage EMR workflows, and provide healthcare customer service so Veterans can receive timely, coordinated care.
Working with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, the Medical Scheduler / Medical Administrative Assistant supports patient access, clinical administrative processes, and continuity of care across multiple services.
The role helps create an organized, patient-focused healthcare experience while supporting efficient clinic operations and ongoing continuity of care.
This position is a great fit for professionals with experience in medical scheduling, patient access, healthcare administration, medical office support, or healthcare customer service.
**Key Responsibilities**
– Coordinate patient scheduling and appointment management to support timely access to Veteran healthcare services
– Monitor, review, and respond to electronic consults, provider orders, and related actions in the electronic medical record system
– Support patient access, medical scheduling, appointment coordination, and clinical administrative workflows across multiple healthcare services
– Communicate professionally with Veterans, providers, and healthcare teams about appointments, scheduling updates, and care-related needs
– Keep medical records, documentation, and scheduling information accurate while supporting smooth clinic operations
– Protect sensitive patient information and follow established healthcare privacy, security, and documentation standards

**Qualifications**
**Requirements**
– High school diploma or GED required
– Minimum 6 months of customer service experience required
– Basic knowledge of medical terminology required
– Ability to type at least 50 words per minute
– U.S. citizenship required
– Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust Clearance
– Ability to communicate effectively in English
**Preferred**
– Experience with patient scheduling, medical scheduling, appointment coordination, or healthcare administrative support
– Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
– Experience supporting Veterans, healthcare organizations, or multidisciplinary clinical teams
