Mango Languages is seeking a Linguist Assistant to support ongoing content development initiatives. This full-time, remote contractor role involves working with a team of linguists and subject matter experts to create language learning materials and additional educational resources.

The Linguist Assistant will review and complete detailed tasks essential to finishing Mango’s current curriculum content development projects. They will also help linguists across different teams with day-to-day work and administrative responsibilities.

Candidates must be able to manage large-scale projects with patience and a strong attention to detail. They should work independently, stay motivated through repetitive, small-scale tasks, and consistently produce high-quality content.

The ideal candidate is also an experienced copy editor who values accuracy, consistency, and cultural sensitivity. They are interested in language learning and are themselves a language learner. Experience with and enthusiasm for using AI to improve and streamline workflows is a major advantage. The ideal person is hardworking, optimistic, and able to handle complex processes and systems.

**Responsibilities**
– Collaborate with remote team members to help create high-quality language curriculum content
– Carry out large-scale content updates in line with Mango Languages’ standards of excellence
– Review and refine language learning materials for consistency, design, functionality, and ADA compliance
– Serve as a copy editor for course content and supplementary materials
– Communicate clearly and respectfully with internal and external team members
– Support efforts to document internal processes
– Help with daily team operations and administrative tasks
– Attend and participate in regular team meetings

**Job Requirements**
– Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field
– Experience reviewing and copy editing educational materials
– Experience with administrative tasks such as file management and documentation
– Strong interest in learning about languages and cultures
– A commitment to maintaining work quality
– Demonstrated attention to detail
– Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace, especially Google Slides (preferred)
– Ability to learn and apply ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards in their work
– A global outlook, including international experience
– Experience learning a second language (preferred)
– Reliable internet access
