We’re launching a brand-new Professional Services (PS) function at UpGuard, and this role is a foundational Day 1 hire. We’re not seeking someone to run an existing playbook—we need an experienced practitioner to help us build it from the ground up. You’ll lead complex enterprise deployments and partner with leadership to create scalable standard operating procedures for our global team.
**What will you do?**
– **Build the foundation:** Create and document repeatable implementation methods, project plans, and SOPs based on your hands-on experience.
– **Deliver enterprise projects & manage scope:** Own complex deployments end to end. Handle client expectations, prevent scope creep, and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure a seamless transition to Customer Success.
– **Drive technical integrations & platform expertise:** Develop deep expertise in UpGuard. Design and troubleshoot complex integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems (ITSM, SIEM, SSO).
– **Re-engineer processes & translate requirements:** Convert unclear client needs into actionable technical requirements. Modernize legacy third-party/vendor risk workflows by leveraging UpGuard automation and industry best practices.
– **Lead stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally:** Build credibility with both technical teams (IT/SecOps) and executive sponsors (CISOs). Act as the link between PS, Sales, and Product, bringing field insights back into the product roadmap.
**What will you bring?**
– **Professional experience:** 5+ years in B2B SaaS implementations, solutions architecture, or professional services, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex enterprise deployments. Consulting experience with large organizations (5,000+ employees) is required, and GRC experience is strongly preferred.
– **A “builder” mindset:** Comfortable with ambiguity, committed to improving what you touch, and motivated by an evolving playbook.
– **Experience with PSA tools** (Rocketlane, Certinia, Productive, etc.).
– **Consultative authority:** Strong executive presence—able to challenge assumptions when needed and guide customers toward best practices rather than simply following instructions.
– **Success metrics & KPIs:** As a Day 1 hire, you’ll help establish our benchmarks. Success will be evaluated based on:
– **Time-to-First-Value (TTFV):** Reducing the time from kickoff to the customer’s first live automated workflow.
– **Fixed-fee realization (margin):** Meeting expectations and preventing scope creep to deliver complex deployments efficiently within standardized service offerings.
– **Customer satisfaction (CSAT):** Driving successful UAT results to support a smooth, high-rated handoff to Customer Success.
**What gives you an edge?**
– **Domain knowledge:** Experience in cybersecurity, GRC, or Third-Party Risk Management is advantageous, though not required. We’re primarily looking for outstanding SaaS implementation experts who can quickly learn our domain and apply process re-engineering to customer workflows.
– **Technical aptitude:** Demonstrated ability to read API documentation, design data mappings, and troubleshoot integrations independently. You don’t need to be a developer, but you must be technically confident.
**What’s in it for you?**
– Monthly lifestyle subsidy for financial, physical, and mental wellbeing
– Work-from-home setup allowance (to support your setup within your first 3 months at UpGuard)
– $1,500 USD annual Learning & Development allowance (learning opportunities can be expensed against it)
– Annual leave: 6 weeks PTO plus two additional UpGuardian leave days
– 18 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of parenting role)
– Personal leave allowance (sick and carer’s leave)
– Fully remote role (Sydney and Hobart offices exist, but attendance isn’t required)
– Premium, role-appropriate hardware (laptops provided)
– Generative AI subsidy (paid access to generative AI tools to support your work)
**Salary:** $120,000 – $162,145 per year
