Hey, I’m Avery, Founder & CEO of Bloom. We’re a workplace consultancy that partners with founder-led, growing small to mid-sized companies that are bold enough to build strong people systems early. The organizations we support understand that creating inclusive, high-performing workplaces doesn’t happen by chance—it’s intentional. They’re committed and they care, but they don’t yet need a full-time HR hire.

That’s where you come in.

This is a part-time contract role in which you’ll serve as a fractional Recruiting Partner for our clients. You’ll build, improve, and execute talent acquisition processes that help teams grow with the right people. You’ll lead strategic hiring initiatives while staying hands-on with sourcing, screening, and managing the full recruitment cycle, with the backing of the Bloom collective throughout.

Who We Are (and Who We Work With)

Bloom isn’t a typical HR consultancy. We work with founder-led, purpose-driven companies that made the smart choice to prioritize their people early. Most of our clients are small to mid-sized businesses (10–150 employees) that know building an intentional, inclusive culture takes work—not luck.

They deeply value creating strong, scalable people systems that reflect their values, but they aren’t ready for a full-time HR role yet. What they need is an expert partner who can help them get it right from the start.

We step in as fractional HR and DEI partners, providing leadership coaching, HR advisory, recruitment support, and the hands-on work of building inclusive-by-design policies, systems, and processes. Whether it’s supporting a client’s first hire, developing progressive people policies, or guiding founders through complex team challenges, we work alongside them to shape high-performing, people-first workplaces.

We don’t believe in quick fixes or corporate jargon. We believe in co-creating better workplaces with the people bold enough to build them differently.

The Opportunity (Spoiler: You’ll make a big impact)

– Manage the full recruitment cycle while delivering a world-class candidate and applicant experience
– Build long-term relationships with candidates for current and future opportunities
– Help Bloom clients with go-to-market recruiting strategy to attract and hire more diverse talent
– Take a care-centered approach to the application and candidate experience
– Advise clients on building teams through an inclusion lens
– Support clients with thoughtful, values-driven hiring practices
– Provide regular updates and share analytics with Bloom clients
– Use creative sourcing techniques to build diverse candidate pipelines

What You Bring to the Role

– Enjoy working in a constantly changing environment where context shifts are part of the job
– Care deeply about the experience of candidates, applicants, and hiring managers
– Have experience with tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Loom, Asana, and Lever
– Approach talent outreach creatively, especially through social media
– Are passionate about creating positive work experiences for everyone
– Have experience building teams with inclusion in mind
– Think strategically and approach new challenges with a problem-solving mindset
– Use multiple recruitment channels (inbound, outbound, referrals, social media, etc.)
– Understand the power dynamics in hiring and work to remove barriers for marginalized and underrepresented communities
– Feel comfortable addressing bias when evaluating candidates with hiring managers or team members
– Take a thoughtful approach to celebrating people starting new career chapters

Bonus points if you have experience recruiting for fashion, retail, or e-commerce brands and maintain strong networks across the United States.

Compensation + Location + Hours

– $45–$55 CAD per hour
– You’ll join Bloom either through your corporation or as an independent contractor
– This is a 100% remote role. We encourage you to work where you can do your best work. However, since we often meet with clients, we expect contractors to work from a private, secure, quiet space with minimal distractions.

– You’ll be the face of Recruitment for your client, but you won’t work in isolation. At Bloom, we work fractionally—but collectively. Advisors support one another, share resources, troubleshoot issues, and learn together.

$45–$55 an hour

At Bloom, compensation is discussed openly and honestly. Early in the interview process, we’ll confirm that you’re comfortable with compensation within the listed range. As you learn more about the role and the full compensation package, we always welcome you to share if your expectations change. We’ll also hold three check-ins during the process to ensure alignment, so that when you reach an offer, it feels clear, fair, and mutual.

Our Use of AI in Hiring

We believe transparency matters. As technology evolves, Bloom may use AI as a supportive tool when developing role descriptions, interview questions, take-home assignments, and interview guides—when appropriate—to improve clarity, consistency, and accessibility for candidates. However, we do not use AI to source, assess, screen, or interview candidates. Every application is reviewed by a human, every interview is conducted by a human, and all hiring decisions are made by people—not automated systems. Human judgment, care, and accountability are central to how we hire.

We also care deeply about providing a fair and consistent selection process for all applicants. While we’d love to connect with every candidate individually, we’re not able to accommodate one-on-one conversations before the interview stage. Keeping our process structured helps reduce bias and ensures we evaluate candidates based on skills, experience, and alignment with our mission.
