The Role
Veeva OpenData Commercial provides reference data across the healthcare ecosystem to support sales execution, compliance, and analytics. Through continuous innovation and modern cloud technologies, we deliver high‑quality products and customer success. The Data Platform Engineering team builds the tools and pipelines that power the global data foundation for life sciences across more than 100 countries.
As a data engineer on our global Data Platform Engineering team, you will help standardize data operations worldwide and improve data quality. You will develop tools and processes to store, manage, and aggregate data efficiently, directly contributing to OpenData’s success.
You must be based in Portugal and already have legal authorization to work there, as Veeva does not sponsor visas for this role.
What You’ll Do
• Build data tools that streamline global data operations
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver data solutions
• Contribute to the OpenData Data Engineering community to shape tooling and standards that enhance data quality and productivity
• Create a data validation framework to automate quality control
Requirements
• 3+ years of hands‑on Python development experience in production environments
• Proficiency with cloud data technologies (EMR, Databricks) on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Experience designing and implementing data pipelines using distributed storage systems
• Strong analytical abilities and a structured approach to software design
• A strong desire to learn and close skill gaps
• Highly proactive in overcoming challenges
Nice to Have
• Experience with Git, including branching, merging, and repository management
• Ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Polars
