About the role
We’re looking for someone who is excited by what data can enable and wants to help shape today’s most exciting industry. You’ll be part of the team responsible for analyzing and understanding our Global Inventory Data, strengthening our competitive position in our Global Offering. As a Data Analyst, you will help ensure our best data is available in global products, enabling organizations to make informed decisions and achieve business success. This role includes working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze and map local data to global products. You will collaborate with stakeholders to create data mappings, reporting, insights, root-cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of Dun & Bradstreet’s inventory data.
  • Become proficient in and act as a subject matter expert on our global data transfer structure.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and troubleshoot data incidents related to data flows from local markets to global systems.
  • Provide analysis support to members of the regional data owner teams.
  • Develop and maintain reference materials and explanatory documentation on data topics.
  • Use advanced data analysis and profiling techniques.
  • Work within data models that store data in an organized structure.
  • Use PowerBI and/or Looker to design, build, connect, and administer dashboards based on data quality monitoring results.
  • Communicate with globally distributed stakeholders using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Capture requirements accurately and build a strong understanding of use cases.
  • Produce regular reports on data quality metrics.
  • Review data to identify patterns or trends that may signal processing errors.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of data quality processes and findings.
  • Follow data governance policies and procedures.
  • Continuously learn about industry best practices and technologies related to data quality.
Required Traits Include

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of data analysis, query languages, data modelling, and the software development life cycle.
  • Strong SQL skills (preferably BigQuery).
  • Agile mindset and understanding of agile project management (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Knowledge of database design, modelling, and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (preferably GCP).
  • Experience with PowerBI, Looker, or a similar data visualization tool.
  • Analytical thinking, process improvement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to clearly explain data issues and solutions.
  • Commitment to meet deadlines, uphold the release schedule, and demonstrate strong teamwork.
Valuable Traits Include

  • Skills in Python and/or Scala for data wrangling and data analysis.
  • Experience with data observability tools such as Acceldata or Informatica DQ.
  • Experience working with XML and JSON data structures.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and their impact on data quality.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, especially anomaly detection.
  • Experience collaborating across time zones as part of a global team.
