BDG is looking for a part-time, remote Commerce Editor to join our growing Commerce and Affiliate Marketing team. The team includes editors and business strategists who produce affiliate content across all of BDG’s sites, including Bustle, Elite Daily, Inverse, Mic, and Scary Mommy.
These articles—and the Commerce team as a whole—work independently from each site’s editorial team. Commerce articles are designed to generate revenue by featuring products within the stories. The team covers a wide range of categories, such as home improvement, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, technology, health & wellness, and more.
In this role, your daily work will involve editing Commerce team articles to ensure they meet editorial standards and effectively drive revenue through product sales. This position is ideal for detail-focused editors who write persuasively and genuinely enjoy shopping and products. It’s especially well-suited for candidates with copyediting, copywriting, or marketing experience. Because this is a remote role, you must be comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines in a self-directed environment.
You must be able to work remotely for 28 hours per week. Due to the nature of our work, team members are expected to be available during major shopping events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Prime Day, since these are critical times for commerce content. Please do not apply unless you can meet this availability requirement.
Examples of articles you may work on:
– 65 dope things under $25 on Amazon that are so good it’s ridiculous
– 65 Cheap Things That Are So Genius They Seem Expensive
– People Who Stage Homes Say These Affordable Items Make Your Home Look Way Better
– Bougie Clothes & Accessories on Amazon That Are Pure Genius
– Bougie Things on Amazon That Are Shockingly Under $25
Responsibilities:
– Edit incoming stories from commerce writers for grammar, voice, product selection, and formatting.
– Refresh and optimize existing content.
– Research products across multiple categories to include in articles, from beauty to tech to lifestyle and beyond.
– Use analytics tools and data from business strategy teammates to track performance and make recommendations to improve content.
Qualifications:
– 3+ years of experience in e-commerce or editorial (strong preference for experience with affiliate content).
– Ability to write and edit in a brand-aligned, engaging, persuasive tone that encourages product discovery and conversions.
– Strong analytical skills—comfortable reviewing performance data and improving content based on key metrics.
– Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress or custom publishing tools.
– Some experience managing writers.
– Experience with affiliate platforms such as Amazon Associates.
Pay: $25–$25 per hour
