Bento Box Animation Studios Atlanta is seeking outstanding 2D Character Designers for an upcoming 2D animated series. These are immediate-hire roles. We are looking for 2D Concept Designers for either in-studio or remote work. This is a short-term project, and no additional benefits are available at this time.

The ideal candidate is deadline-focused and able to meet fast turnaround demands for a 2D animation production. You must be comfortable working in a collaborative environment and willing to take and follow direction. Strong attention to detail, along with a solid grasp of file management and organization, is essential. Excellent communication skills are required, since you will work closely with teammates and directors. We’re looking for someone who is passionate, creative, motivated, and shares our love of cartoons.

Responsibilities:
– Designing Original Characters: Create 2D sketches, inked and colored illustrations, and concepts that define each character’s appearance and personality. You will be responsible for developing style guides, expression sheets, and character turnarounds.
– Variations: Produce multiple concept options for a single character. Keep a consistent style and overall vision while experimenting with different silhouettes.
– Character Turnarounds: Provide front, back, and side views to support the 2D rigging and animation teams.
– Expression Sheets: Create a range of facial expressions and emotional states that reflect the character’s personality.
– Visual Storytelling Through Design: Use visual cues to communicate a character’s background, traits, and role in the story.

Qualifications:
– Ability to work in-studio or remotely.
– Two (2) or more years of professional experience.
– Previous experience designing characters for 2D animated projects.
– Proficiency in Photoshop (portfolio submission required). If needed, please provide password access.
– Prior broadcast animation experience and knowledge of a studio production pipeline are highly preferred.
– This position is open to both Georgia residents and non-residents. International applicants may be considered as independent contractors.
– Note: This is an immediate-hire position. No relocation assistance is provided.
