As an AI Coding Tutor, you will be responsible for producing consistently high‑quality, accurately labeled data through various methods to support the training of NLP models. Working closely with technical teams, you will help create datasets used for model training, evaluation, and ongoing improvement. Your work will be essential in enhancing our products and services by ensuring the data we use is precise and reliable.
This is a remote, full‑time, temporary AI Coding Tutor position lasting up to six months.
Responsibilities
• Support AI model training by preparing code examples, offering accurate solutions, and providing careful corrections in Python, Rust, JavaScript, C / C++, Java, and Go.
• Review and improve AI‑generated code to ensure it meets industry standards for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Create clear and thorough documentation that breaks down complex coding concepts for AI training.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to strengthen AI‑assisted coding tools and ensure they meet enterprise‑grade quality and performance requirements.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, Rust, JavaScript, C / C++, Java, Go, along with solid software development knowledge.
• At least two years of hands‑on industry experience with a proven software development background.
• Broad experience with tools and systems such as databases, SQL, Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, gRPC, and AWS.
• Solid understanding of system fundamentals, including threads vs. processes and multiprocessing vs. concurrency.
• Skill in shell scripting with tools like bash or zsh, plus experience managing environment variables.
Preferred Skills and Experience
• Strong reputation on platforms such as StackOverflow.
• Demonstrated contributions to open‑source projects.
• Proven success in programming competitions, such as high Codeforces ratings or achievements in ICPC.
• The ideal candidate is flexible, excels at logical reasoning in many contexts, pays close attention to detail, has strong technical experience, and performs well in fast‑paced environments.
Additional Requirements
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed, depending on team operations.
• Ability to quickly learn new skills, discard outdated ones, and adapt effectively in constantly evolving environments.
Location and Hourly Expectations
This role may be either remote or on‑site:
• Remote: Must maintain an effective work environment and be available for virtual collaboration during work hours.
• On‑site: Regular attendance is expected to support team interaction and collaboration.
Compensation and Benefits
• Pay range: $55/hour to $65/hour
Your specific level and base pay will be determined individually and may vary based on skills, experience, and job‑related expertise.
Base pay is only one part of the overall compensation package at xAI.
