The Research Analyst contributes to consulting, research, and modeling projects that help clients solve complex workforce and labor‑market issues. This position combines strong quantitative skills, technical proficiency with tools like Python and SQL, and economic reasoning, with the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate is inquisitive, analytical, and able to shift smoothly between detailed technical work and high‑level storytelling for executives.
Major Responsibilities:
• Conduct advanced quantitative analysis using Lightcast workforce data, client data, and external sources to tackle real‑world workforce, economic, and talent‑strategy challenges
• Build, clean, and manage complex datasets using SQL, Python, and similar analytical tools
• Use economic and labor‑market principles to assess trends, weigh tradeoffs, and produce insight‑driven conclusions
• Convert complex analytical findings into clear, engaging narratives tailored to client needs
• Develop high‑quality reports, visualizations, and presentations
• Collaborate with project leads and client‑facing teams to define analysis scope, refine research questions, and ensure outputs support decision‑making
• Present findings to clients and internal teams, address questions, and refine analyses as needed
• Support a collaborative team environment by sharing expertise, reviewing colleagues’ work, and contributing to collective learning
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Policy, or another quantitative discipline
• At least one year of professional experience in analytics, research, consulting, or a similar field
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or comparable analytical languages
• Strong grounding in economics, labor economics, or public policy
• Experience designing, executing, and validating analytical methods
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and familiarity with Google Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and comfort working with ambiguous questions
