Windows 10 Port Of An Existing Mac App

last updated July 24, 2021 6:10 UTC

This is not your average job posting – we’re looking for a talented individual, someone to work with part-time / full-time (for a fixed term) or on contractual bases – whatever gets the job done and keeps you motivated. You can work remotely from the comfort of your home, once the project is initiated. We are, however, looking foran individual that resides locally in or around the London / Greater London area;so it’s easy to commute to Slough as andwhen necessary. In any case, applicants living outside the UK should not apply, unless you’re willing to commute to Slough at leasta few times throughout the course of this assignment OR your experience, expertise and enthusiasm is so relevant to this job that you just have to apply even if you’re in another part of the world.

We need an experienced Windows . NET Developer (C#), or a natural born C# prodigy, to develop a software for Windows 10 from scratch, based on an existing software that’s available on the Mac App Store, called: 2Do

The software is demanding and will require an experienced developer who knows . Net inside out, and is familiar with performant network and database programming (will be using SQLite).

The developer will also need to be able to read and understand Objective-C code in order to try and port existing core libraries written for the Mac. Without this, youwill not be able to port key components which need to be able to translate across platforms.

Other than supporting all of the existing features of the Mac app (task management workflows), there will be a fair amount of code to write in order to support sync across devices over Dropbox and CalDAV. Again – this will become easy once the developer is able to read existing code written in Objective-C and port it across.

We envisage the software not taking more than 3 to 4 months to develop.

DO NOT apply if:

*You don’t live within the UK / EU and are unwilling to commute to Slough as and when required, unless as previously stated you’rea self-proclaimed C# genius withopen source codeto back this claim

  • You are not confident or do not have an excellentexperience developing desktop applications
  • You are busy with 2 other jobs, fulltime and part-time, or are easily uninterested in your job
  • You think you’ll be able to manage it but are not willing to commit
  • Have disloyalty issues
  • Do not like solving complex problems
  • Give up easily
