Sana’s vision is to make healthcare simple.

Healthcare in the US is undeniably difficult to navigate, and our members feel that frustration every day. We want to create an experience that feels effortless whenever someone needs to use the healthcare system. If you need something, you should instantly know where to go, with care just a click—or as few clicks as possible—away.

What’s powerful about focusing on “easy” is that it evokes a clear, universal feeling. As humans, we instinctively recognize when something is easy versus difficult, even if we can’t always explain it. As a company, we work hard to create an uncomplicated path for our members at every stage of their healthcare journey. If you’re passionate about delivering better healthcare to small businesses through smooth, accessible care and affordable benefits, we’d love to have you join us.

We are seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) to join the Sana Care team. In this position, you’ll take on both clinical and administrative tasks that support our patient-centered approach. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference. You’ll support our providers and help ensure patients receive the care they need quickly and without stress. If you’re organized, a strong communicator, and motivated by helping others, this could be the right role for you.

What you will do
• Support providers with medication requests, lab and x-ray results, prior authorizations, and non-clinical triage
• Coordinate specialty referrals and help patients access care with ease
• Expedite urgent imaging and lab orders
• Serve as the primary contact for calls and general practice information
• Monitor EHR inboxes and assist providers with patient communication
• Collaborate with our payer team to resolve coverage and benefits questions
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture
• Help boost patient satisfaction and engagement

About you
• 2+ years of experience as a medical assistant
• High school diploma or GED required (associate degree preferred)
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make patients feel supported
• Understanding of patient care processes and examination procedures
• Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive problem-solver who enjoys innovating
• Passionate about improving the healthcare system for patients
• Dedicated and willing to step in wherever needed

$25.96 per hour

The cash compensation for this role is targeted at $25.96 per hour plus equity for all US-based remote locations. Final offers depend on several factors, including experience and expertise, and may differ from the listed amount.
