**The Opportunity**
CommonLit is seeking experienced educators to work as **Virtual Professional Development Facilitators (Part-Time, Contractor)**. In this role, you will only lead and support virtual professional development for schools implementing CommonLit’s instructional programs, with no travel required.

This opportunity is well-suited for former teacher leaders, instructional coaches, or school leaders who are passionate about adult learning, curriculum rollout, and improving literacy outcomes at scale.

You will be a strong fit if you:
– **Have been highly successful as a teacher, coach, or school leader.** You worked to ensure every student had access to grade-level materials and the tools needed for success.
– **Enjoy and feel confident leading virtual adult learning.** You have previously led virtual professional development that engages educators and improves student outcomes. You also have experience contributing to curriculum decisions and/or implementation, and you communicate effectively with teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders. You understand that change in schools is complex.
– **Like solving problems and supporting educators.** You will facilitate professional development for many schools implementing the CommonLit 360 curriculum for the first time. You will partner with schools to address challenges thoughtfully, applying best practices and a collaborative approach.
– **Are excited to keep learning and welcome feedback.**
– **Know CommonLit well and want to learn more about our products and programs.** Applicants must be familiar with CommonLit’s offerings and have used them successfully. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have achieved success teaching CommonLit 360 or supporting curriculum implementation in their school or district.
– **Have a flexible schedule.** You can lead virtual PD sessions between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET.

**Application deadline:** Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to those submitted by March 15, 2026.

**Scope of Work & Availability**
– Up to **20 hours per week** from May through August.
– At least **10 hours per week** from September through April.
– Virtual sessions usually occur between **8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET**.

**Key Responsibilities**
– Facilitate **virtual professional learning** sessions that align with CommonLit’s instructional program.
– Prepare for and follow up after PD sessions, including training, internal meetings, and any required documentation.
– Work with CommonLit’s Professional Development and Account Management teams.
– Develop and maintain strong knowledge of **CommonLit 360** instructional tools and PD resources.

**Qualifications**
– 5+ years of experience as an ELA teacher, instructional coach, or school leader.
– 1+ year of experience facilitating engaging, outcomes-driven professional development.
– Strong understanding of best practices for ELA instruction and adult learning.
– Willingness to receive feedback and coaching.
– Familiarity with CommonLit instructional materials; **experience with the CommonLit 360 curriculum is strongly preferred**.
– A valid driver’s license, and willingness to fly and drive are required.
– Based in the United States, with reasonable access to a major airport.

**Compensation**
– Starting at **$35/hour** for work including virtual PD facilitation, PD preparation and follow-up, internal meetings, and training.
