The Role
The Medical Assistant is responsible for retrieving medical records, completing paperwork, coordinating specialist referrals, managing prior authorizations, virtually greeting patients before their neurology appointments, and performing other clinical and administrative tasks within the Medical Assistant scope.
Job Duties – What you’ll do
• Follow HIPAA standards and advocate for patients and families with clinical providers, billing and insurance teams, and other care partners as needed.
• Ensure high-quality interactions with clients and partners while maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality.
• Adhere to standardized procedures, quality assurance requirements, and documentation processes to support efficiency and effectiveness.
• Build positive, productive relationships across the multidisciplinary Care Coordination team and the broader Synapticure organization to deliver a smooth, supportive patient experience.
• Work with internal teams to ensure Synapticure is well represented to external audiences.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with medical and community partners.
• Communicate confidently and knowledgeably about the company and its programs both internally and externally.
Requirements – What we’re looking for
• Active Medical Assistant Certification
• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience handling and reviewing medical records
• Experience in a startup or rapidly growing organization
• Experience coordinating and managing referrals
• Excellent communication skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

This is a remote role based from your home, and all necessary technology will be provided.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance. Compensation depends on the candidate’s experience.
