A new, disruptive tech startup in the music education space is seeking a fantastic intern. Background (or current student of) both music and interest in music/business is a must. Founded by a seasoned entrepreneur and musician, Wifi Music School is an online marketplace for anyone to sign up for private music lessons, exclusively over Skype, with some of the finest musicians in the world.
We’re looking for an intern to help us manage our Teacher Acquisition Operations. Responsibilities would include reaching out to well-known musicians and educators to join our cause, interviewing teachers to screen for music competency and to ensure all teachers are at the quality level Wifi Music School expects. A candidate for this role should be a conservatory-trained (or comparable experience) musician who still actively performs and has teaching experience. Ideally, you’re a music generalist who is just as comfortable evaluating a performance of a piece of Mozart as you are a piece of Jimi Hendrix.
This would start as an unpaid position but the Wifi Music School team would fill out any necessary documentation to award college credit if relevant. Beyond the aforementioned experience, you’d get a front-row seat to a fast-paced startup working on disrupting a large industry.
Wifi Music School works as a distributed team, with current members in New York City, Chicago, San Diego, and North Carolina. You should be comfortable with online collaboration tools such as Trello, The Google Apps Suite, have excellent written and oral communication and be comfortable and presentable via webcam.
Once we receive your resume, if we’re interested we’ll follow up to schedule a phone interview. Thanks!
