CityBldr is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our ambitious team and play a crucial role in achieving our objectives. As the Systems Administrator you will work closely with the CTO to ensure the infrastructure of the company is working as intended and ready to scale according to our growth plan. You will become the go-to person for all things information technology related and will interact with people across the organisation. The preference is for this position to be located at our headquarters in Seattle, WA or in the same time zone.

Please note, that CityBldr is not accepting applicants outside of the US at this time. We also are looking for candidates who are flexible to move to Seattle at some point in the future if required.

Job Description

  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations

  • Maintain and administer computing environments that support applications developed by CityBldr

  • •Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations

  • •Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary

  • Quickly assist with any relevant support tickets and communicate with stakeholders to resolve the issue if needed

  • •Monitor and administrate day-to-day operations of all CityBldr’s Systems

  • •Create and administrate users across all of our platforms

  • •Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use

  • •Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future

  • •Confer with network users and operations staff about how to solve existing system problems

  • •Operate cloud infrastructure, provisioning and replacing instances as necessary

  • •Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases

  • •Perform routine system startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records

Skills

  • At least 2 to 4 years of related experience

  • Strong familiarity with AWS, Docker, Linux/UNIX

  • Postgres, MongoDB, ElasticSearch

  • Nginx

  • Knowledge of computing and computer network hardware, software and peripheral equipment

  • •Knowledge of computer network security systems, procedures, techniques and applications

  • •Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

  • Adhering to company policy regarding the acquiring, use, and disclosure of employee confidential information

  • Bonus points for experience with Javascript (Nodejs) or Rust software development

  • Bonus points if familiar with Git, Slack, Zoom, Metabase, Intercom and G Suite
