As our new Support Engineer, you’ll use your technical expertise, curiosity, and communication skills to deliver top-tier technical support to customers through our live chat system. You’ll report to the Support Manager and join the core of Kinsta—a team that reflects our values and commitment to exceptional support.

This role requires coverage from **4 PM to 12 AM UTC** (we use UTC for scheduling).

**What You Will Do:**
– Own customer-reported issues and drive them through to resolution.
– Research, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to customer problems.
– Use established procedures to escalate unresolved issues to the right internal teams.
– Provide fast, accurate updates and feedback to customers.
– Stay eager to learn and continually improve your technical and non-technical skills.

**What You Bring To The Role:**
– Fluent English and strong written communication skills.
– Excellent customer service skills and experience providing online support.

**Bonus Points If You:**
– Have experience with Linux, NGINX, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP, DNS, CDN, and caching (object and page).
– Understand WordPress, including database structure, file/directory structure, wp-config.php directives, and common WordPress topics. WP-CLI experience is preferred.
– Are comfortable working in a command-line environment, including file management, reading and interpreting server logs, and careful attention to command syntax.
– Have familiarity with Cloudflare, Buildpacks, Dockerfiles, third-party Git hosting (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), npm, or Composer.
