Our mission is to deliver cheaper, greener energy to customers in France. Octopus Energy France is a fast-growing energy company and is recognized as an ESS (social and solidarity economy). We give customers a better experience through transparency, honesty, and simplicity. We want to do more for the planet through real, long-term investment in renewable energy and a low-CO2 future—benefiting both the environment and our customers’ budgets. We aim to transform the energy industry through our teams, our platform, and the way we use data.
We prioritize customer satisfaction and genuinely care about receiving great feedback. We have the highest ratings among energy providers in France on both Google Reviews and Trustpilot.
**Job description**
At Octopus Energy France, we work hard to provide customer service that is truly different, efficient, and human.
To support our rapid growth and be even more available to customers—so we can offer an exceptional experience—we are looking to strengthen our team with enthusiastic people who are interested in working from home and outside standard office hours.
If you’re passionate about helping customers and care about the energy transition, you’ll be a brand ambassador.
**What you will be doing:**
– Act as a brand ambassador on social media by managing both private and public messages from customers (Messenger, X, Instagram, etc.).
– Handle customer requests from a portfolio of residential clients (calls and emails), anticipating needs, helping them follow up on their cases, and reducing their energy use; set up personalized solutions based on each customer’s situation.
– Manage customer reviews on Trustpilot.
– Share ideas to continuously improve how we organize ourselves and handle requests.
– Proactively support the team’s growth and development on operational topics, including recruitment and initial or ongoing training.
– Help colleagues when they face difficulties.
**Working conditions:**
– Two intensive onboarding weeks in our offices with the Operations teams.
– 100% remote work (except during onboarding), with almost monthly office visits for social activities and ongoing training.
– A 36.5-hour contract with shifts from 7:00–15:00 or 12:00–20:00.
– Work on weekends and public holidays.
**What you will need:**
– A strong focus on the customer experience: you listen carefully and genuinely want to solve their problems.
– Autonomy and responsibility—when you take ownership of an issue, you see it through to the end.
– Comfort working remotely and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
– Excellent French skills (written and spoken). You can also hold conversations in English, as we’re part of a UK group and some communication with UK colleagues is expected.
– Ability to stay calm, precise, and well organized—especially during busy periods or challenging cases.
– Curiosity and willingness to dig into customer bills and numbers.
– Authenticity, friendliness, and a positive attitude 🙂
**Why you’ll love this role:**
– We operate in an innovative industry where everything is learned, decided, and built quickly. Profit-sharing, flexible office options, excellent health insurance, and a soft mobility allowance—your contribution will be rewarded with benefits.
– You’ll be supported by colleagues from Operations, Tech, or Finance, along with the best tools available today. You’ll work in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment. Growth opportunities may be available in the short or medium term, either within Operations or elsewhere.
– At Octopus Energy, we hire people who are genuinely kind and empathetic. We care deeply about equal opportunities and aim to create an inclusive, fair workplace. We encourage applications regardless of age, gender, relationship status, race, disability, pregnancy or parenthood, origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
If this sounds exciting, apply now!
**Next steps: the process includes 2 rounds:**
– First, a 30-minute video call with a Talent Partner.
– Then, a second video interview with Operations team members, including scenario-based exercises.
€32,500–€32,500 per year
