Job Description Summary
In this dynamic role, the Multimedia Content Reviewer will write and evaluate linguistic content in the language in which they have native-level fluency, ensuring exceptional accuracy for users of leading multimedia platforms. Over time, the reviewer will act as a cultural expert for their language market, producing fully localized content, identifying potential cultural concerns in wording or content types, and offering recommendations to ensure relevance and appropriateness for target audiences.
The ideal candidate has a background in journalism or a related field, strong creative writing abilities, and excellent attention to detail. Candidates should also be passionate about music, film, and technology, and comfortable using iOS and macOS devices.
Main Duties
• Localize, translate, and adapt content across multiple categories—including multimedia, legal, technical, and marketing—while following style guides and instructions.
• Write original copy for multimedia products such as music, TV, app store content, video-on-demand, and gaming subscription services.
• Regularly review both their own linguistic work and that of other localization team members.
• Edit and fact-check content to verify accuracy.
• Conduct LQA testing for content published on live platforms, including music and app descriptions, marketing assets, and campaigns.
• Research market-specific trends in content treatment, terminology, and best localization practices.
• Transcribe spoken content such as song lyrics.
• Report on data and assets across various media types.
• Review linguistic assessments, create training materials for new projects, and ensure team members are properly trained in terminology, style, and best practices.
• Collaborate with global language teams via virtual meetings and email to align terminology, style, market insights, and translation needs.
Requirements
• BS/BA degree and 2+ years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or copyediting for media such as music, TV, or apps, with writing samples.
• Experience in translating and localizing multimedia content.
• Ability to quickly identify issues and inconsistencies in large volumes of content and make sound judgments.
• Broad knowledge of music, TV, film, gaming, and pop culture.
• Confidence in managing linguistic decisions for their language market.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with iOS and macOS is a plus.
• Ability to type in their native-level language using a local (English) keyboard.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Enjoys collaborating in a multicultural team environment.
