Software Quality Assurance Analyst

SA Ignite is looking for an outstanding, handson QA professional that can keep up with the rapid software development of a star-up environment.

Here’s what we are looking for:

  • Four+ years relevant work experience in ensuring quality in web-based applications

  • Experience in health care and start up environments is preferred

  • Proficiency and comfort in an Agile software development methodology

  • Experience using bug tracking tools

  • Comfort using SQL queries in a relational database environment

  • Familiarity with automated testing tools

  • Detailed oriented and organized to follow issues through to resolution

  • Excellent technical writing skills to document specifications and test plans

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across teams

Had you been with us last month, you would have helped us with:

Qualifying all software product releases and Electronic Health Record (“EHR”) extractors: You would have performed system testing of our software based on user scenarios, completed regression testing on all updated code, and performed integration testing on a new “extractor,” (a tool that pulls data out of a physician practice’s EHR system). To do this, you would have had to:

  • Plan, create, and execute software test cases for integration, system and regression testing;

  • Perform detailed data verification by comparing data from the source to the destination;

  • Setup all necessary test data for comprehensive testing;

  • Develop automated test scripts for defined scenarios

  • Monitor the testing progress of projects and provide status updates.

  • Research Meaningful Use (MU) and PQRS rules (regulations that drive the software’s functionality) to understand business requirements;

  • Identify and log bugs, including necessary effort to figure out how it can be reproduced;

  • Document and maintain bug tracking metrics

  • Follow-up on critical issues to ensure timely resolution;

  • Execute SQL queries and procedures to ensure connectivity/data transfer to complete integration testing;

  • Run EHR reports from various client EHR systems with limited documentation;

  • Provide input on the code or a system can be released to general audience;

  • Provide feedback to the development team on features to enhance the software.

Apply for this position if you are:

  • Mature, patient and great with people

  • Intellectually curious

  • Resourceful and a “doer”

  • Collaborative and described as a “team-player”

  • Honest, kind and appreciate others

  • Self-directed and “own” everything you do

  • A great problem-solver

  • Open and reflective

Do not apply for this position if you:

  • Would feel uncomfortable without a well-defined corporate structure

  • Have clear boundaries about where your job starts and stops

  • Need policies and procedures to guide your decision-making

  • You’re accustomed to asking your boss for your next assignment
