The senior security researcher reports to the head of the Global Researchand Analysis Team (GReAT) in the United States. The position willencompass a wide range of activities, including technical anti-malwareresearch, tracking APT campaigns, discovery of new threats, governmentrelations and media activities.

Responsibilities
Active technical research on IT security issues and malware threats.
Participate in GReAT research activities by assisting with malwaresample collection, collaboration with external entities and providing guidance and ideas on forensics.
Participate in the discovery and investigations into new and ongoingadvanced threat actors (global APT research).
Create and deliver presentations at internal and external securityevents.
Actively participate in press tours and Security Analyst Summit planning.
Develop and maintain relationships with top journalists and actively participate in social media as part of the company’s expert positioning activities.
Serve as a company expert on security topics for media, as required byPR teams globally.
Participate in government relations activities.
Participate in meetings and presentations to government officials todisclose current research and emerging threats.
Help support and pre-sales teams with intelligence on malware threatlandscape. Assist local sales/marketing/support teams with presentations at partner conferences and local events.
Engage in operations with respected national and international lawenforcement to aggressive fight against cybercrime. Provide intelligence for expert positioning and to Anti Malware Researchoperations.
Assist with promotion and correlation of malware threat research withtechnologies. Assist with reviewing white-papers and videos to promote company technology.
Content creation; analyse and describe malicious threats and createblog posts for https://SecureList.com and https://Threatpost.com. Make short and long term predictions on the evolution of threats.
Proposes ideas aimed at improving performance of GReAT andassumes responsibility for achieving group goals.
Prototype development; imagine and develop prototypes or newtechnologies.
Assist with testing newly released products and technologies fromKaspersky and competitors.

The Team
Established in 2008, the Global Research & Analysis Team (GReAT) is an integral part of Kaspersky Lab’s R&D department, and leads the company’s anti-malware research and innovation. The team’s security analysts are based around the world, each contributing a unique set of skills and expertise to the research and design of solutions to combat increasingly complex malware code. Today, GReAT comprises 40 experts working in Europe, Russia, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. Costin G. Raiu has led the team since 2010.
GReAT undertakes incident response for the company’s customers during malware-related incidents. Other key departmental responsibilities include thought leadership in threat intelligence, driving and executing initiatives focused on improving malware detection accuracy rates and efficiency, and supporting key customer accounts with malware intelligence expertise.
