As a developer at Tutuka you’ll be building enterprise-level high scalability systems that process tens of millions of transactions and tying them to web, mobile and API interfaces that make it easy for people to issue prepaid cards all over the world.

We already have a team of amazing developers that work out of our local offices in South Africa as well as remotely out of Ireland and the UK, and now we need you!

What you will be doing

We are not big on specific buzzwords. You’ll be working with tools that get the job done like Ruby, ColdFusion (Fusebox & ColdBox), Javascript and SQL Server. There is also space for a little Java, Redis and Elasticsearch. Many of our developers come from programming backgrounds outside of our preferred stack, i.e. PHP, Python, and we like that. As long as you know what you’re doing and are willing to learn, we’ll train you.

Lots of space to challenge yourself with things like:

• High availability and performance through queuing, optimisation, caching

• Pushing API limits with REST, XML-RPC, ZeroMQ

• Test Driven development/continuous integration and deployment

• Secure coding and encryption at Level 1 for PCI-DSS

• HTML5 mobile front ends

Work is done using agile principles of user stories, scrums and sprints.
