We are building a world-class engineering team passionate about designing, implementing and deploying products that will turn business travel from mundane to magical. The critical path to success is to write code that can access multiple APIs in parallel with extremely low latency and store them all in a massive data cluster. Oh yeah, and do that a few billion times a day.

Starting from scratch, we’ll be integrating with hundreds of third party APIs. Knowledge of the code running these travel industry legacy systems is a key part of your skill set. And yet, we want you to be skilled in the most current coding methodologies as well. So we’re looking for experience with both legacy and cutting edge systems.

This is no ordinary startup. We’ve already brought on some of the most passionate, intelligent and seasoned founding team members on the planet. Our founders started websites you’ve been using for years and are some of the most connected dealmakers in business. We have confirmed backing from major venture firms. You are passionate about building complex, highly scalable software systems. You enjoy creating unconventional solutions to the most challenging business requirements. You know the modern technical stack from the network up and are incredibly grateful that you can programmatically control all of it thanks to AWS, Azure and Google.

You’ve screwed up in ways that have scarred you for life and are comfortable talking about what you learned and how it made you better.

You have deep respect for the challenges associated with operating a large-scale system in production, and your designs and implementations reflect that understanding. You love sleeping in your own bed knowing that your infrastructure has been designed and implement to be scalable, robust and the entire engineering team is involved in DevOps. And you’ve been woken up in the middle of the night when it hasn’t been that way.

The Gig

• Design a system capable of exceeding the founders wildest dreams of scale

• Lead the planning, execution and success of the deployment of the architecture in a hosted environment

• Contribute to the development of the engineering culture including Agile, test driven development and devops

• Provide technical leadership across the entire engineering shop in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

• Work on integrated teams of product management, architects and database gurus to ensure we’re building the best products.
