The role
The Grant Strategy Manager / Professional Grant and Scientific Writer will support Synapticure’s R&D programs by identifying non-dilutive funding sources, developing grant applications, monitoring program requirements, and preparing scientific manuscripts for publication. The position involves extensive collaboration across research, clinical, and administrative teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-focused, and skilled in both grant acquisition and scientific writing.
Job duties – What you’ll do
• Funding Research: Identify and monitor non-dilutive funding opportunities from government agencies, industry partners, foundations, and other sources aligned with Synapticure’s R&D goals.
• Grant Development: Create persuasive grant proposals, including project descriptions, budgets and justifications, biosketches, and letters of support.
• Fund Management and Compliance: Oversee grant progress reporting and ensure adherence to funder requirements.
• Scientific Writing: Draft and revise scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, address reviewer comments, and prepare revisions.
• Conference Support: Prepare abstracts, biosketches, and other materials for conference submissions and presentations.
• Collaboration: Work with Principal Investigators, research teams, and company leadership to align funding opportunities with research priorities.
• Grant Tracking: Monitor submissions and funding outcomes, and prepare revisions or appeals as needed.
• Protocol Development: Assist PIs in writing and updating research protocols with R&D teams.
Requirements – What we look for
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• At least two years of experience in grant and/or scientific writing in biotech or healthcare.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to produce clear, compelling proposals.
• Experience with major funding agencies such as the NIH; SBIR experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in obtaining grant funding and publishing scientific papers.
• Proficiency with grant writing tools and bibliographic databases.
• Strong organization and time‑management abilities and comfort managing multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research tools.
• Comfortable working remotely and coordinating with multiple departments.
