Location: New York, though may consider other East Coast location for right candidate. Experience: 0-4 years Hours: Full-time, ability to work infrequently on evenings or weekends Start date: June 1, 2015.
Requirements
Interest in finance: You should be interested in either learning about finance or else expanding a base of knowledge that you already have. This includes topics such as the stock market, accounting, economics, the SEC, business, and all of the many related topics. Prior work experience with or demonstrated interest in these fields is desirable.
Strong writer: We need someone who can write quickly, clearly, efficiently, and professionally. Particularly, this includes simplifying very complex investment recommendations to their simplest, most basic constituent parts while maintaining accuracy and speed.
Preferred
Independent worker: We need someone who can stay self-motivated and disciplined without significant input from others.
Attention to detail: We track hundreds of companies at a time. Sifting through dozens of press releases, legal filings, and news stories every day to find the few sentences that we care most about is the bread and butter of this job.
Duties
Database management: Maintain and update our extensive database of short-selling campaigns on a minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour basis. We are constantly tracking hundreds of different companies. A good memory and technological fluency are very important for maintaining the integrity of our database.
Monitor the news: You should enjoy reading the news and staying abreast of a wide range of financial and business periodicals. While we have strategies to watch the most important sources on activist short-selling, you should be someone who already reads about finance and business of your own accord.
