If you want to join as a remote team member at a profitable, fast-growing startup—where you’ll be a key part of the product team, ensuring we build the right product in the right way, delivering what thousands of entrepreneurs truly want, and bringing to life features they haven’t even imagined yet—while gaining extensive hands-on, practical experience, then this Product Owner role is THE job for you.
This is the kind of startup position that helps you build a standout resume: in one year, you’ll learn more than you would in five years in a typical role. And if you succeed here, we want you to grow with us.
Who we are… 🐶
We’re Vidalytics.com, a video marketing platform that helps entrepreneurs scale their businesses against larger, better-funded competitors. We do this with advanced tools in our video marketing and hosting platform. We’re six years old and growing 50–100% every year—and you’ll be part of the team that helps add even more growth.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a management role at a startup, where you can grow with us without the usual early struggles of finding product-market fit, generating revenue, reaching profitability, or fundraising. We’ve already tackled the hard part—now it’s time to scale.
At a glance… 💪
– You’ll report to the Head of Product, a serial entrepreneur who loves UX and design.
– You’ll make sure the developers have everything they need to build the product exactly the way we envision it.
– Our shared goal is to create a well-run machine that moves smoothly from idea creation to production-ready features.
– You’ll be responsible for “GSD” in product (getting things done), including owning the short-term product backlog and WIP (details below).
– You’ll be accountable for delivering features that cover as many real-world use cases as possible.
– This role is all about getting involved in assembling the full picture.
– Perform at a high level, and continue to grow with us as we scale—for example, by expanding your responsibilities.
What it’s like working at Vidalytics… 💻
We’re a product-led company with a strong marketing focus. Our product has grown significantly over the past few years because we build attractive features that marketers love—and they actively share what we offer.
You’ll play an important role in bringing new features to life and ensuring users and leads receive a product that helps them grow their businesses faster.
The team members supporting you include:
– CEO/CMO — Patrick. He sets the overall product strategy at a high level because he also leads Marketing, and he’s actually our ideal customer—so he’s also the face of the brand (Vidalytics is his idea).
– Head of Product — Me, Erika 😉 I have a close understanding of who our users are, what they say about us, and what they expect. I use this to set priorities for our roadmap and backlog. I manage our designers and QA testers. I’m also a UX specialist with strong visual design knowledge. We’ll work closely to define “done” for each feature and move it from “dev done” to being in users’ hands.
– Head of Engineering — the lead of the development team, with the final say on how to implement features (architecture, etc.).
– Developers — the team members building our features.
– Designers — the people creating the experience behind our features.
– QA — our QA tester will use your acceptance criteria to write test cases and ensure the feature works to our standards.
– Customer Happiness — the front line with the outside world. They bring feature requests and feedback so we can imagine and build new app functionality.
Who you are (Personality Type)… 🦁
– Organized.
– Detail-oriented: you get things right without getting lost in the weeds.
– Action-biased.
– Tech-savvy—you’re comfortable with technical topics related to marketing (analytics, tech, split testing, media buying).
– Resourceful and self-sufficient—you can figure things out with minimal guidance.
– Curious—you constantly ask “what if…?”
– Willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on, even when it’s not strictly your job.
– Eager to learn and hungry for knowledge.
– Reliable—you show up when you say you will and get things done.
– Accountable to deadlines and results—you deliver even when unexpected issues come up.
– You can both give and receive direct, honest feedback.
– You genuinely align with Vidalytics’ values (and no—these aren’t just filler lines in our job post).
What you’ll be doing (Job Tasks)… 😃
– Reviewing designs: review what our designers produce against the Head of Product’s requirements, ensuring the designs cover all use cases and meet a high quality standard.
– Writing acceptance criteria: translate designs into clear technical requirements that guide development. You’ll describe in detail how every part of a feature works, including interactions between features, accessibility, and other quality requirements.
– Meeting with the product team: review the roadmap, product feedback, plan ahead, and report on backlog status while improving our product workflow.
– Understanding our users and industry: as a PO, you need to understand what users expect, what audience we serve, identify user needs, and help prioritize features.
– Analyzing data from our database: you may not do this immediately, but over time you should be comfortable reviewing product usage data so you can make smarter decisions during backlog grooming.
– Grooming the backlog: using input from the executive team, users, and developers, help prioritize the backlog so it makes sense across business goals, development, and customer happiness.
We’d love to hear from you if (Job Requirements)… 👊🏻
– You can handle the tasks listed above.
– You’ve done this type of work before and succeeded (we’ll check references).
– You have native-level English ability.
– You have an action-oriented mindset.
– You’re naturally curious.
– You’re detail-oriented.
– You’re highly organized.
– You’re located in Europe and/or the Americas and can overlap well with European working hours.
What you’ll love about us (Benefits and Perks)… 😉
– Great company culture—you’ll be part of a team, not a cog in a machine.
– We’re here to support you—this is your work and your career. Our leadership team helps you become who you want to be, not micromanage you.
– We value your ideas. At Vidalytics, my door is always open. Need help? Let’s talk. Have a vision for the company’s future? I want to hear it.
– Rest and relaxation—generous PTO.
– Professional development—we fund classes, conferences, and more.
– More than an employee—you’re a person. Everyone you’ll work with is committed to treating you with respect and kindness. You won’t hear things like, “It’s just business.”
– This is a career-building role where you’ll learn a lot and take real responsibility. You don’t have to wait for someone to retire to move up like you would in a mega-corp. You’ll grow with us!
Vidalytics’ Values (We’re serious about these)… 😇
1 – Meritocracy: we build a merit-based culture where the best ideas win—not based on titles. You should embody these traits.
2 – Direct and honest communication (transparency): success requires facing the truth and being honest, starting with each other. We give direct feedback and expect the same. Feel free to debate—just be ready to support decisions once they’re made.
3 – Ownership and accountability: the best people own their role and tasks—and even things beyond their day-to-day responsibilities. They don’t say “that’s not my job.” Instead, they proactively spot problems and think like owners of the business.
4 – Intelligence and smarts: we value smart people—both technically and in business problem-solving. Think for yourself and don’t be intimidated by complexity (a growth mindset).
5 – Self-aware (personal growth): you can evaluate yourself objectively, admit mistakes, and stay open to growth. This mindset turns work into real personal development.
6 – Integrity: trust holds us together. We need to trust you—your time quality, your deadlines, and everything else.
7 – Urgency: we’re a startup—you must meet deadlines. We need someone who pushes themselves when needed, meets deadlines, and prioritizes what matters most.
8 – Hard work: we’re working to get things done with limited resources. If you want an easy job, look elsewhere. This role comes with challenges and constant opportunities to learn and grow professionally. And we try to have fun together while also treating each other like friends.
9 – Data: when possible, we make decisions using data—not emotions or opinions.
10 – No assholes: no matter how good someone is, if they make life harder for others on the team, they don’t belong at Vidalytics.
Cheers,
👩🏻
