The Common Market, a mission‑driven distributor of local foods serving the Mid‑Atlantic, Texas, the Southeast, and the Great Lakes, is seeking a Customer Support Associate II to deliver outstanding service to our customers. Our mission is to support regional farms while making local products accessible to communities and the institutions that serve them.
In this position, you will focus on building and sustaining strong relationships with our buyer partners, ensuring their needs are met and their questions are addressed. You will act as a key customer contact, managing inquiries, resolving issues, and sharing product details. You will also monitor orders, update customer accounts, and work closely with internal teams to provide a smooth and positive customer experience.
Fully remote role — hours are Sunday through Thursday, noon to 8 PM Eastern Time.
The preferred candidate will be based near one of our hubs (Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, or Chicago). The Customer Support Associate works with customers nationwide across multiple time zones, including New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Atlanta, Birmingham, Houston, and Chicago.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the main contact for customers, answering questions and delivering excellent service
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support satisfaction and loyalty
• Handle and resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively
• Provide information on product availability, pricing, and order updates
• Track and review customer orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
• Maintain updated and accurate customer account information
• Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Share customer feedback with internal teams to support improvements
• Assist with administrative work such as data entry and reporting
Requirements
• Prior experience in customer support or customer service
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective problem‑solving skills
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast‑paced setting
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience using CRM systems or customer databases
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office
• Interest in local farm food and sustainable agriculture
• Ability to work well within a collaborative, team‑focused environment
• Positive attitude and a commitment to exceptional customer care
• High school diploma or equivalent
