Locus Analytics is pioneering a systems approach to economics. Our patented Functional Information System (FIS) provides a structured, integrated approach to capturing the relationships that drive economies. We unify industry, labor, and product data with multi-attribute tags that highlight relationships beyond conventional industry boundaries and across traditional barriers between these data types. Our data powers enhanced peer, competitor, and supply chain analysis, and highlights the dynamics between workforce and industry trends.

We are looking for a creative, thoughtful, detail-oriented individual to further the development of FIS and support its application in a number of fields.

This individual will:

Utilize the Locus Functional Information System to support the development of a data product that will be marketed to membership organizations and private equity investors
Develop and refine methodologies for tagging economic entities with related attributes
Manage and QC a remote team of annotators classifying private companies
Coordinate with the technical lead to ingest and evaluate data from the annotation project
Regularly present on project progress to the team
Work in an agile environment and use the scrum framework to structure and manage projects

Able to coordinate with a remote team

Required experience:

4-year college degree or equivalent educational/professional experience
1-2 years of professional experience (post-degree or equivalent internship experience)
Experience managing projects
Basic SQL (Select, Where, Join, Group By) — no additional programming or specific technical expertise is required

Desired experience:

Project, team, or partnership management
Experience using Microsoft Office or Business Intelligence tools like Tableau to visualize data
Experience working in an agile environment
Relevant backgrounds may include but are not limited to: Project Management, Library sciences, Information sciences, Linguistics, Computational linguistics, Database management, Copy editing
