THE OPPORTUNITY Contract-to-Hire Position Requirements
Proven data product development track record, with experience managing and cultivating an inventory of data-centric functional enhancements.

5+ years of business experience in data-centric product development or product management function.
Background in data science.

Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), project and product management methodologies (PMP, SCRUM/Agile, Waterfall), user acceptance testing (UAT), and business analysis.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical, cross-functional teams.

Ability to effectively contribute both as a team member and team leader.
Proven ability to function in an evolving, start-up environment and consistently meet deadlines.
*
Experience working with remote and offshore teams across time zones.
Strong attention to detail with ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks within set deadlines.

Enjoy collaboration with a small tight-knit team, and ability to establish strong relationships across levels and functions in a hybrid work environment.
Music industry metadata experience is highly beneficial.
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Vice President, Product Management with an emphasis on data.
The VP Product Management will be responsible for developing and managing our client’s metadata-centric data products provided to clients and integrated into their platform. As part of the product team, you will be responsible for the continued development of their media rights related data products and data services processes, including data ingestion, data normalization, data enhancement, discrepancy identification and resolution, and data scoring, among others, which provides to its clients and the music metadata community. You will be expected to collaborate with the customer services team to understand client needs and pain points, the development team to leverage best practices in algorithms, models and big data techniques, and the management team to ensure offers best-in-class data products to its clients. The role reports to the Chief Product Officer (CPO). Key Responsibilities for VP Product Management:
Create and own a thoughtful and responsive product roadmap to support the data product vision and strategy, working closely with internal and external partners to assess feasibility and business impact.

Take responsibility and assume accountability for all phases of the data product lifecycle from concept, through design, build, delivery, go-to-market and product success.
Achieve implementation of agreed product goals in conjunction with the development team and participate actively in sprint activities to provide ongoing product perspective to the development team.

Set and articulate data product vision and strategy, and ensure data product vision aligns with business objectives.
Promote and implement ‘voice of the customer’ in respect of data product enhancements.

Understand and articulate our client’s positioning against data competitors and within the music industry more generally.
Research and develop additional data products to extend and improve their platform capabilities.

Write MRDs, PRD and BRDs for new product and prototype development supported by market research and client/prospect interviews.
Research and develop a data source strategy to integrate additional data sources into the system.

Create and deliver presentations that articulate the product strategy, roadmap and milestones for multiple audiences as well as presentations, content and internal training to enable the customer service team and business development team to explain product functionality to clients without requiring your involvement with every opportunity.
Work closely with the customer service team, the business development team, the development team and other members of the product team as well as key partners to develop and implement data product functionality.

Work with senior leadership to align around the data product strategy, roadmap and milestones.
