Hey Jane is looking to expand our team with a detail-oriented, human-centered, tech-savvy Patient Care Advocate who has experience in medication abortion and can deliver excellent customer service on a full-time schedule.
This is a remote position with required weekend hours. We are currently hiring for three part-time roles.
Schedule: 9:00am–7:00pm PT (10-hour shifts)
Workdays: one of the following schedules: Tuesday and Sunday; Thursday and Saturday; or Monday and Sunday
Compensation: $30–$33/hour (higher weekend differential pay)
Responsibilities:
– Answer patient questions related to treatment, logistics, and next steps
– Troubleshoot concerns involving shipping, refunds, scheduling, and care coordination
– Follow patients through their care journey and ensure timely follow-up
– Verify, document, and report insurance eligibility information
– Maintain accurate EMR documentation in line with HIPAA and privacy requirements
– Manage multiple priorities while staying grounded, communicative, and dependable to both patients and teammates
– This role requires high accuracy and consistent follow-through, since small details directly affect patient care. We value people who take pride in doing things correctly, ask clarifying questions, and ensure nothing is missed.
Qualifications:
– A healthcare background (MA, PCA, CNA, or similar clinical/patient-facing role) with 1+ years of experience in abortion care
– Ability to work effectively in both in-clinic and remote settings
– Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
– Excellent triage skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in real time
– Exceptional communication skills and the ability to provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients during stressful or uncertain moments
– Proficiency with online tools and technology used to deliver care and communicate with patients
– Comfort supporting patients with sensitive health issues, including abortion and birth control
– Ability to follow protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to patient care and documentation
– Experience providing trauma-informed care, shown through the ability to slow down, adjust tone, and respond with steadiness and respect during crisis moments
– Interest in continuous process improvement to refine tools and operations for better care delivery
– Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage time thoughtfully, and proactively communicate progress, changes, and follow-through with teammates

– Spanish language proficiency
– Prior remote or hybrid work experience
