The Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review (NESR) team is housed within the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP). NESR staff collaborates with stakeholders and leading scientists to produce nutrition research using rigorous methodology. NESR team objectively review, evaluate, and synthesize research to inform Federal nutrition policy and programs including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA).
Primary Responsibilities: Primary responsibility of the Systematic Review Librarian is providing the Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review (NESR) team expertise in creating comprehensive rigorous search strategies in multiple databases to support systematic reviews, rapid reviews, scoping reviews, and living systematic review projects focused on Federal nutrition policy and programs including the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Applicants should also havestrong knowledge of study design and research principles, library information science and experience in conducting research on topics related to nutrition and public health, in critically evaluating evidence-based nutrition/health literature, or developing science-based nutrition related policy, program guidance or clinical practice guidelines. Knowledge of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and experience using systematic review and meta-analysis methods is preferred.
Applicants should have experience in coordinating multiple complex tasks, managing research projects, and facilitating expert groups. Candidates should have strong written and oral communication skills and should be able to work both collaboratively and independently within a research team conducting research and producing publications and reports.
Location: Remote or 1320 Braddock Place, Alexandria, VA 22314 Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, excluding Federal Holidays, weekends, and days when the office is officially closed.
