The Role
The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining medical records, completing paperwork, managing specialist referrals and prior authorizations, virtually greeting patients before their neurology appointments, and performing additional clinical and administrative tasks within the Medical Assistant scope.
Job Duties – What you’ll do
• Follow HIPAA standards while advocating for patients and families with clinical teams, billing and insurance representatives, and other care partners as needed.
• Ensure high-quality interactions with clients and partners while maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality.
• Adhere to standardized procedures, documentation practices, and quality assurance processes to support efficiency and effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships within the multidisciplinary Care Coordination team and the broader Synapticure organization to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Work with internal teams to represent Synapticure appropriately to external audiences.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with medical and community partners.
• Communicate confidently and accurately about the program and the organization both internally and externally.
Requirements – What we look for
• Active Medical Assistant certification
• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience handling and reviewing medical records
• Experience in a startup or rapidly growing organization
• Experience coordinating and managing referrals
• Excellent communication skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

This is a remote position, with work performed from your home. All necessary technology will be provided.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience.
