The Opportunity That Awaits You:
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Product Management to lead and execute our product strategy, driving the development of our current and future product portfolio, including enhancements to the recently launched HYDROS Robotic System. This role is critical to our continued success and offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of PROCEPT and transform men’s health. The Director, Product Management will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing the product roadmap for our total product portfolio, encompassing capital equipment and disposable products. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, as well as building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing product management teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the surgical robotics market, strong technical acumen, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
- Team Leadership & Development: This is a key leadership role, requiring a passion for developing talent. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance. This includes setting clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, conducting performance reviews, and creating individualized development plans for each team member. Identify and address skill gaps within the team and proactively recruit top talent to scale the product organization as the company grows. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment where every member feels valued and empowered.
- Strategic Product Planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company’s overall business objectives. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer needs assessments to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation and concept development through product launch and post-market surveillance. Prioritize product initiatives based on market needs, business impact, and resource constraints.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineering, marketing, sales, regulatory, and manufacturing to ensure seamless product development and commercialization. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in the surgical robotics field. Analyze market data and customer feedback to identify unmet needs and inform product strategy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, MDR). Work closely with the regulatory team to ensure timely submissions and approvals.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the product management budget effectively, prioritizing investments, tracking spend, and maximizing ROI, incorporating input from product managers and other relevant stakeholders on resource allocation and potential cost efficiencies.
- Product Launch Preparation and Support: Co-develop and co-execute successful product launch plans, in partnership with additional marketing teams and the Global Learning and Development team. This includes value propositions, messaging, claims generation, limited launch plans, and training materials.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvement. Analyze product performance data and make data-driven decisions.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of product management experience in the medical device or medical technology industry.
- 4+ years in a leadership role, leading product management teams and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategies that drive commercial success.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulatory and healthcare IT landscapes (FDA, MDR, cybersecurity, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Data-driven decision-making skills and experience using analytics to inform product strategy.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, early-stage commercial environment is highly desirable.
- A passion for improving patient care through innovative technology.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Ability to be in the San Jose office a minimum of 3 days per week.
The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess:
- Advanced degree (MBA or MS)
- Previous experience with surgical robotics
- Familiarity with AI software development and testing concepts
- Experience with the use of Jama and Jira
- SAAS, subscription, and other software business model experience
$207,000 – $244,000 a year
Compensation also includes a yearly 20% bonus and RSUs at offer signing.

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY
Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance. We would also ask you to understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality & EHS policies.
