PostEra’s work and research sits at the intersection of chemistry and machine learning. The candidate we are looking for should have experience in machine learning and ideally chemistry (though not a hard requirement as we focus on potential rather than qualifications). The role will be focused on developing machine learning algorithms to design molecular structures, forecast chemical properties and predict the outcomes of organic synthesis — a problem akin to that of games like Go and Chess but with huge therapeutic implications for patients around the world!

The candidate will work directly with Dr Alpha Lee, a world leader in machine learning for drug discovery, and support ongoing projects with pharma and biotech clients in their drug discovery efforts, as well as developing new machine learning techniques. We envisage that some of the work will be showcased at top conferences/journals — giving back to the scientific community is a core value of PostEra as evidenced by our recent project supporting the COVID Moonshot Consortium: https://covid.postera.ai/covid.
