Mission
Become a Legal Counsel for Western Europe (France and Belgium), combining strategic insights with practical legal work. Your week will involve legal research, coordinating with external lawyers, drafting and negotiating contracts, delivering legal advice, and managing innovative projects. As a member of the team serving Qonto’s largest markets, you’ll address a broad range of legal matters and help shape our fintech solutions.
As a Legal Counsel at Qonto, you will:
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare strategic legal analyses
• Lead complex contract negotiations and oversee external counsel
• Develop legal solutions for innovative fintech products
• Advise on commercial practices and marketing initiatives
• Structure complex partnership and procurement agreements
• Support legal procedures related to daily banking operations
• Handle multiple strategic legal projects at once

Your future manager will be Ghislain, our Legal Counsel overseeing Litigation, Banking Operations, Commercial, and Claims. Before Qonto, he spent six years as a litigator in product regulatory law and commercial disputes, representing clients across France and advising companies, including during criminal or regulatory investigations. He brings strong litigation expertise and a deep understanding of internal operations. He values teamwork, autonomy, and learning.
About you:
• Legal expertise: Skilled in research, drafting opinions, and handling complex negotiations
• Project management: Able to manage multiple legal projects and external lawyers
• Strategic mindset: Experienced in creating innovative solutions to complex issues
• Business acumen: Able to design practical legal advice aligned with business needs
• Communication: Capable of explaining complex legal topics clearly
We welcome candidates with backgrounds in commercial law, intellectual property, banking regulations, or financial services. Experience in banking operations is a plus, but support will be provided.
