About the Role
Lyra is looking for a detail‑driven, strategic Credentialing Supervisor who excels in a compliance‑heavy environment and takes ownership of accreditation readiness and the integrity of the credentialing program. This position will oversee credentialing operations with a strong emphasis on Joint Commission standards, ensuring continuous compliance while developing and strengthening scalable processes.
The Credentialing Supervisor will manage the full credentialing lifecycle, uphold audit readiness, and lead ongoing improvements to policies, procedures, and systems. Acting as the organization’s Joint Commission subject matter expert, this person will work cross‑functionally to support alignment and successful survey outcomes.
Balancing hands‑on operations with program development, this role will lead credentialing initiatives, support team performance, and serve as a key link among internal partners, providers, and regulatory bodies to maintain the highest levels of quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
● Manage all credentialing and recredentialing activities for providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
● Act as the primary expert on Joint Commission standards, maintaining survey readiness and leading accreditation efforts.
● Create, improve, and maintain credentialing policies, procedures, and workflows that meet Joint Commission, NCQA (if applicable), and state and federal requirements.
● Monitor credentialing operations for adherence to internal and external requirements, addressing gaps proactively.
● Lead internal audits and prepare documentation for Joint Commission surveys, mock audits, and compliance reviews.
● Supervise and mentor credentialing staff, offering guidance, training, and performance management.
● Collaborate with Enrollment, Compliance, Legal, Provider Operations, and Revenue Cycle teams to support alignment and operational readiness.
● Maintain accurate provider credentialing records and ensure data integrity across systems.
● Track licensure, certifications, sanctions, and expiring documents to support timely renewals and compliance.
● Handle escalations involving complex credentialing issues, provider concerns, and audit findings.
● Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and scalability.
● Stay informed on changes to Joint Commission standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, and ensure timely updates.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
● At least 4 years of credentialing experience in a healthcare organization, hospital, health system, CVO, or behavioral health environment.
● At least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
● Strong understanding of Joint Commission credentialing and accreditation standards (required).
● Experience participating in or leading Joint Commission surveys and audit readiness (strongly preferred).
● Knowledge of NCQA standards is a plus.
● Experience with credentialing platforms such as CredentialStream, Verifiable, or similar tools.
● Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
● Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.
● Proven success in building, improving, and scaling operational processes.
● A proactive, self‑motivated approach with strong follow‑through on compliance‑related tasks.
Compensation
$76,000–$115,500 per year
As a full‑time Credentialing Supervisor employed by Lyra Health, Inc., the expected annual base salary range is $76,000 to $115,500. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
