Responsibilities: • Analyze and amend PHP software and MySQL database errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports to the Applications Development Manager. • Work closely with the Architects, developers, program and product managers conceptualizing and developing new software programs, databases and applications. • Meet deliverable schedule in the development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects. • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications. • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs, stored procedures and applications according to specifications with the guidance of the Applications Development Manager. • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, database administrators and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or the organization’s software systems or databases.
Qualifications: • 3+ years or equivalent proven experience of software design and development experience in modern PHP development • Excellent technical knowledge of PHP • Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB • Working knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Kohana and/or Symfony • Knowledge of and experience in RESTful web services • Excellent knowledge of Apache and Linux/CentOS configuration and command line usage • Hands on experience working in integrated development environments • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, especially S3, RDS and AWS API Tools an advantage • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain Perl applications helpful • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
