Hey Jane is now looking to grow its team with a detail-oriented, people-centered, tech-savvy Patient Care Advocate with experience in medication abortion to deliver excellent customer service on a full-time basis.

This is a hybrid position, requiring in-clinic hours at our Oakland clinic. Initially, the role will be about 30–40 hours per week on-site, with on-site hours potentially increasing over time depending on clinic staffing needs.

**Schedule:** 8–10 hour shifts, scheduled between 7:00am and 7:00pm PT. Final shift timing will be set based on clinic needs and coverage.

**Workdays:** 4–5 days per week, Monday through Saturday. The specific days will be determined at hire and may change over time based on clinic operations (the role will not be scheduled every day of the week).

**Compensation:** $65,000 annually, salaried, with benefits

**In this role, you will support patients throughout their care journey by:**
– Answering patient questions about treatment, logistics, and next steps
– Resolving patient concerns related to shipping, refunds, scheduling, and care coordination
– Following patients through their journey and ensuring timely follow-up
– Verifying, documenting, and reporting insurance eligibility information
– Maintaining accurate EMR documentation while following HIPAA and privacy standards
– Managing multiple priorities while remaining calm, communicative, and dependable for both patients and teammates
– Performing with high accuracy and thorough follow-through, since small details directly affect patient care

**Minimum Requirements:**
– A healthcare background (MA, PCA, CNA, or similar clinical/patient-facing role) with 1+ years of experience in abortion care
– Ability to work effectively in both in-clinic and remote settings
– Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
– Excellent triage skills and the ability to make sound decisions in real time
– Exceptional communication skills, including providing clear, empathetic guidance during stressful or uncertain moments
– Proficiency using online tools and technology to support care and communicate with patients
– Comfort supporting patients with sensitive health needs, including abortion and birth control
– Ability to follow protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to care and documentation
– Experience providing trauma-informed care—adjusting tone, pacing, and approach to meet patients with steadiness and respect during crises
– Strong interest in continuous process improvement to enhance tools and operations
– Ability to prioritize competing tasks, manage time effectively, and proactively update teammates on progress and follow-through

$65,000–$65,000 per year
