MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Linguist performs quality control tasks, on‑demand translation and copyediting, and acts as a linguistic lead on assigned accounts or projects. The role includes coordinating a team of internal and/or freelance translators, training and developing freelancers, and ensuring that all work meets required standards within set deadlines. The linguist also ensures that the established Language Process is followed by the project or account team.

Main Duties:
• Translate and review entertainment, marketing, PR, and life sciences content (English to German)
• Perform copyediting for assigned projects or accounts (English to German)
• Provide lead linguistic support for assigned projects or accounts
• Manage and maintain language resources (glossaries, style guides, work instructions) to required quality standards and keep them updated
• Conduct research to ensure high‑quality output
• Master or learn translation‑related tools
• Follow established processes precisely, including raising queries when needed
• Communicate with clients on linguistic matters when required
• Contribute to the development of new or improved workflows
• Train and support internal linguists and freelancers according to project and company needs

Qualifications and Required Skills:
• Native-level fluency in German
• Fluent English, written and spoken, across a wide range of registers
• More than 3 years of experience translating/localizing marketing and life sciences content
• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of the localization process
• Proficiency in standard software such as Windows and Office
• Experience with common CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio) and issue or query management tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and linguists
