About the Role
A Service Desk Engineer supports Business Wire employees by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to computer hardware, operating systems, applications, networks, and peripherals. This role also participates in incident escalations and collaborates with various technical teams.
The ideal candidate brings a broad range of experience, strong technical and functional skills, a consultative approach, and a proven history of delivering excellent customer service.
What You’ll Do
• Support end-user technology across a variety of applications and devices (Windows and Mac)
• Respond promptly and professionally to IT service requests via chat, phone, email, or ticketing system
• Manage macOS and Windows devices using Jamf and Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance and proper configuration
• Deploy and maintain software packages and application versions, including testing updates before release
• Support zero-touch provisioning for Mac and Windows devices, enabling automated enrollment, configuration, and security enforcement
• Assist with endpoint and user lifecycle processes through scripting and workflow automation
• Manage OKTA for user provisioning, MFA policies, group assignments, and application access
• Configure and maintain SAML and OIDC SSO integrations for secure access to business applications
• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software in accordance with company standards, and maintain technical documentation
• Provide technology training
• Document work in the ticketing system and maintain IT inventory
• Escalate more complex issues to senior IT staff or management
• Manage entitlement enrollments and removals
• Perform other duties as needed
What You’ll Need
• 4 years of IT Service Desk experience
• Strong technical skills supporting Microsoft and Mac desktops and networks
• Experience with common software such as Windows/Mac OS, Office 365, Active Directory, VPN, antivirus tools, and Okta
• Experience with IT service management tools like Jira and knowledge of ITIL best practices
• Experience with device management tools such as Jamf and Intune
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service
• Ability to learn new technologies
• Basic scripting knowledge
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, ITIL, or Microsoft 365 are a plus
