EmpowerDB is a web-based database primarily used by domestic violence and sexual assault service providers to collect, manage, analyze, and report on their work. Each organization that uses EmpowerDB has a customized system tailored to its specific needs. In addition to being secure, user-friendly, and versatile, what truly sets EmpowerDB apart is the highly personalized, comprehensive support we provide to every customer.
We are looking to hire a full-time customer support representative to join our team. We offer a flexible schedule, but the working hours should generally fall within the typical Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. ET timeframe. The exact schedule can be adjusted slightly to accommodate the team member’s time zone. However, we will only consider candidates located in North or South America.
**Responsibilities**
**Tier 1 Technical Support**
The successful candidate will be trained to identify and address the common technical issues our customers face. While no advanced technical experience is required, strong comfort with technology is essential.
As a customer support specialist, you will provide timely, professional help to customers. If a customer’s issue requires more advanced technical support, you will collect all relevant details in an organized way and escalate the problem to the appropriate team member.
**Report Building**
In addition to technical support, this role includes building reports for customers. You must be able to create simple queries that help customers review demographic and service data.
We will train the new hire on EmpowerDB’s report tool, a user-friendly drag-and-drop platform that does not require any programming knowledge.
To excel, you should have strong analytical skills and be able to interpret and present data clearly and concisely. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy are also critical.
**Qualifications**
– Fluency in English
– Strong writing and communication skills
– Ability to work in a team and multitask while working from home
– Prior customer service experience
– Prior database or other technical experience is a plus, but not required
– Reliable internet connection
**Salary & Benefits**
The starting salary will be between $1,000 and $2,000 USD per month, depending on qualifications and skill level. You will receive two weeks of paid vacation in your first year, and three weeks for each year after that. This role is classified as an independent contractor position, so no additional financial benefits will be provided.
