At Fintual, we make investing easy, transparent, and accessible to everyone.

We began with the idea that anyone—no matter how much money they have—should be able to invest wisely and build their wealth. Half of our clients say they had no experience managing their finances before Fintual, so our challenge is to guide them and help them turn investing into a habit.

We’re also the first startup in Spanish‑speaking Latin America to launch our own investment funds.

By relying on technology and automation, we can offer low‑fee, no‑minimum, fully online investing. This is why having an excellent team is essential, and why we’re looking for the right person to join our Devs.

We’re hiring for the Mutual Funds squad. We manage the full lifecycle of clients’ mutual‑fund investments, including the app and web experience for creating and funding goals, as well as the operational side of the funds themselves (like our beloved Risky Norris). As you can tell, we’re a core and highly cross‑functional squad at Fintual.

What we’re looking for:
• You’re a strong programmer and genuinely enjoy coding. You’ve been formally programming for at least two years (Fullstack / Frontend / Backend). Any language is fine, though experience with Ruby (on Rails), React (Native), Django, Go, or Python is a plus. If you don’t know some of them, you’ll have time to learn here.
• You like understanding operational workflows and finding ways to automate them. We want someone who can take ownership of improving and automating operations.
• You’re eager to learn and comfortable stepping outside your usual responsibilities, just like everyone else on the team.
• You communicate clearly, openly, and honestly. At Fintual, we value concise communication, vulnerability, and directness.
• You handle English well enough. You don’t need perfect fluency, but you should be able to understand it, write and code in it, and read technical material.

How the process works:
Before applying, you must complete this task and attach a GitHub link to your solution when you submit your application:

Create a simple Portfolio class that holds a collection of Stocks. Each Stock has a “Current Price” method that returns its most recent price. The Portfolio also includes a set of “allocated” Stocks that define the target distribution (for example, 40% META, 60% AAPL).
Add a rebalance method that determines which Stocks to buy or sell to match the target allocation.
Include documentation or comments explaining your reasoning.
Important: If you use LLMs, that’s completely fine—just include the conversations.

After the code review, the steps are:
• Screening interview (30 min) with someone from Devs and People to get to know you and share more about the role.
• Technical interview (50 min) with live coding.
• Conversation (30 min) with the Squad Manager.
• Reference checks—and you can check ours too by speaking for 15 minutes with three Fintual team members of your choice.

If you’re a woman, you’re part of only 35% of people who studied a STEM field. From our experience, women tend to apply less often when they don’t meet every requirement. If you’re unsure, go for it.

Compensation:
This role starts at 1.6MM net, with adjustments based on your technical level.

Some of our benefits:
• 7 weeks of vacation per year—you must take at least 5.
• Stock options after one year.
• Medical expense insurance.
• Breakfast and lunch at the office.
• No‑meeting Tuesdays and Fridays.
• 12‑week parental leave for the non‑gestational parent.
• If you live within an hour of the office, we’ll ask you to come in twice a week.
• You can coordinate work‑from‑anywhere with your team (within ±1 hour of Chile or Mexico) for defined periods.

Fintual was incubated by Y Combinator in 2018, by Stanford University’s dy/dx program, and is backed by investors like Kaszek, Hi Ventures (formerly ALLVP), and Sequoia (early investors in Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Stripe, PayPal, LinkedIn, and more).
