WHO WE ARE The Green Office Inc. (https://www.thegreenoffice.com) is an online retailer of eco-friendly office supplies to companies throughout the Continental US.The company is currently in its tenth year of operation and is undergoing a major transformation.

WHAT WE NEED: If you look at our site, you may get the impression that the design hasn’t been updated in the past six years and you’d be right. We have big long-term plans, but our immediate need is to update our web site to reflect the level of expertise and professionalism that we provide our customers.

WHO WE NEED: We need a contract designer with these traits:

  • Experience working in the e-commerce space and is familiar with industry best-practices.
  • Ideally experience providing creative direction. We would like someone who is more than an order taker, but can also be a partner.
  • A creative thinker who not only makes things look pretty, but has ideas about how to structure things like navigation, content, etc.
  • Proven ability to translate ideas (e.g. a business value proposition, a process or service) into beautiful visuals that convey messages simply and effectively.
  • Ideally someone who is environmentally conscious. We don’t expect you to know all the thermodynamics, but knowing the basics would be good.
  • Someone reliable who can be a self-manager, communicate well, and deliver the goods when they promise.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: The site is already up and running, but we need to give it a major overhaul. We’ve already put together a creative brief which will help guide you through this project (along with our dedicated time of course). We will start with redesigning the homepage first and that will set the groundwork for an additional 4 pages that we will need designed. Your deliverable will be in the form of a PSDs.

If this sounds like the kind of project you are meant for, we’d love to hear more about you. Write a little bit about yourself and show us a little bit of what you have done in the past.
