AHEAD is searching for a Sr. DB Migration Engineer to be a part of our Digital Solution Group. Candidates are eager to learn, customer focused, an effective communicator, self-initiating and can perform most tasks without direct oversight.
Roles and Responsibilities

    • Serve as Lead in migration project and direct point of contact with customers and onshore leaders.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers to plant migration efforts.
    • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on best practices for Windows and SQL Server environments.
    • Create detailed documentation for migration plans, processes, and post-migration configurations.
    • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment of project goals.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to database connectivity, security, and system integrations.
    • Need deep Azure skillsets with SQL database experience to lead Cloud migrations and modernizations.
    • Deep Understanding SQL clustering and how to modernize SQL databases.
    • Experience migrating workloads both lift and shift and modernizing to Azure services.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in supporting Windows in an enterprise environment
    • Strong proficiency in Windows Server (2016, 2019, and 2022).
    • Extensive experience with SQL Server versions 2012–2019, including installation, configuration, and migration.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) and hybrid migration scenarios.
    • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation tools for system administration and database tasks.
    • Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
    • Good knowledge on Always on and high availability
