When property people are happy, we’re happy. That’s why we’re HappyCo. We’re looking for a Data Architect / Data Platform Lead to join our team.

The Position:

The Data Architect / Data Platform Lead will drive the implementation of HappyCo’s Data Platform. We are seeking someone who will support us in defining our data engineering roadmap, leveraging their prior experience and expertise.
As HappyCo is entering a growth phase, there is ample opportunity for progression (for the right person) as our teams grow.

Responsibilities / Job Duties:

Drive the technical implementation of HappyCo’s data strategy as a part of a cross-functional team
Baseline current state data architecture including standards and classifications
Lead initiatives to validate and implement new architectures
Work closely with domain experts, ensuring the suitability of data models for commercialisation, analytics and machine learning and data science
Own the data reliability, efficiency and quality accountabilities within the organization

Required Qualifications / Skills:

10+ years experience working in a engineering or architecture roles, with an emphasis on data
Demonstrated experience in implementing data management best practices (e.g. classification, quality, standards)
Experience in evaluating tools and technologies and aligning recommendations to strategy
Strong sense of accountability and understanding of privacy around user data

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

Experience with modern cloud based data solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, dbt)
Familiarity with streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Nifi, Kinesis, materialize)
