We are seeking a Data Entry Clerk to input information from paper documents into our database. The ideal applicant is computer proficient, types quickly, and pays close attention to detail. You will report to a data manager or another senior member of the data team.
Responsibilities:
• Enter data from paper documents into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
• Input information provided directly by customers
• Create error‑free spreadsheets containing large amounts of data
• Check data accuracy by comparing it with original documents
• Update existing records
• Retrieve data from databases or electronic files when needed
• Perform routine backups to protect data
• Organize and file paperwork after data entry to prevent loss
Requirements and skills:
• Fast typing skills; touch typing is highly preferred
• Strong proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiarity with office equipment, computers, and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of database systems
• Strong written and spoken English skills and customer service abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
