We’re hiring for a weekend shift during East Coast (US) business hours, from 9am to 6pm.
At Podia, we’re building the most creator-friendly platform in the world to help people sell online courses, memberships, and digital downloads. And the #1 reason people choose Podia is creator-friendliness.
Sounds great—but what does that mean? It means:
– Fast, friendly live chat support
– Free migrations
– No technical headaches
– No transaction fees
And it also means a relentless commitment across our entire team to help creators succeed. To deliver on all of that, we need your help.
We’re looking for a super-friendly, tech-savvy, experienced support agent who can advocate for our creators, build a sense of community, and help them make sales.
Here’s what you’ll do:
– Respond to creator tickets via chat and email (this is priority #1). We pride ourselves on responding to creators within the first 2 minutes of live chat.
– Migrate creators by downloading/uploading content, setting up courses, importing customer lists, and more—when they need help moving from other platforms.
– Troubleshoot product issues, reproduce them for our dev team when needed, and track their status in Basecamp.
– Answer any questions creators have about our product, and coach them toward their first sale.
– Stay closely connected to our customer base so our team understands what creators are thinking and asking for.
Requirements:
– Excellent writing skills—please rewrite the bullet to make it sound better.
– Strong tech skills and confidence troubleshooting whatever creators run into.
– Ideally, experience in a SaaS company, including capturing screenshots and recording videos for customers.
– Support experience—helping customers feel happier than they did before they reached you.
It would be a big plus if you also:
– Have created and/or sold an online course, digital download, or membership.
– Have experience with Intercom and Slack.
– Have experience working remotely with a stable internet connection.
– Have worked with digital creators before.
Benefits:
– High autonomy with minimal micro-management—you’ll receive clear direction and the tools to troubleshoot using your best judgment.
– A team that’s always available to help (or just listen when you want to share ideas).
– Competitive compensation and equity at a fast-growing company, using a standardized salary scale based on the 90th percentile of US salaries for each role, regardless of where you live.
– 401(k) matching, health insurance, and other medical benefits for US-based employees.
– Work from anywhere with stable internet.
– Work with a diverse team across many countries and backgrounds, and help make Podia an inclusive workplace for everyone.
– A rapidly growing base of passionate customers who will see and appreciate your work.
– Great benefits including three weeks of paid vacation (plus an extra week during December holidays), sabbaticals every three years, professional development credit, paid family leave, a new laptop every three years, and more.
– (Paid) annual retreats with the team, plus a virtual option during global pandemics.
– The opportunity to connect with some of the best creators in the industry.
Named one of the “Best Remote Companies to Work For in 2022” by We Work Remotely, Podia has been around since 2014, has the greatest customers in the world, and a team that will do whatever it takes to help creators win. If this sounds like you, let’s talk!
About the hiring process:
We’ll start reviewing applications immediately and continue for the first two weeks after the posting date. There’s no advantage to applying within the first five minutes—so please take your time. We put more weight on your responses to our application form than on LinkedIn data or resumes. We’ll then narrow the candidate pool to a small group for a short test project.
If your application moves forward, we’ll send you a small paid test project to complete within 72 hours. It will include:
– One help center document
– Three mock email questions
– A mock live chat session (so we can get a sense of your voice and tone, and so you can experience what it’s like to work with our customers)
If you’re selected after the test project, you’ll be interviewed over Zoom by our Director of Support, Support Lead, and one of our Support managers. Each interview typically lasts 30–45 minutes and is designed to understand your experience and your approach to work.
The final interview will be with Spencer, our CEO, who can answer any questions you have about the company’s broader goals and how we operate.
After that, we’ll decide on the final candidates and request professional references from both a former coworker and a manager. We’ll follow up to schedule a brief 10-minute call.
Finally, if all goes well, we’ll send a written offer that can be signed electronically.
We look forward to chatting with you.
