Position Description
Trash Warrior is seeking a Chief of Staff reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, you will partner closely with the Senior Leadership team to develop, communicate and drive priority initiatives across the business. Chief of Staff will be a key contributor to both the strategy and implementations of critical initiatives that are “currently on no one’s plate”, including building a few teams from scratch (customer success, marketing, etc). Day-to-day responsibilities are dynamic and will vary greatly based on the candidate & the business needs at the time. This role serves as a potential pipeline to senior operational/ growth roles at Trash Warrior.

Responsibilities
TLDR: your day to day will be to deliver a variety of growth and operations projects in a fast result-based environment
Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO
70% of your time will be to focus on 2-3 key projects every month; 30 % will be on some ad hoc requests
Manage the planning and tracking of quarterly and annual objectives
Work cross-functionally to ensure key projects are on track
Spearhead a few functions/ teams that are currently managed offshore or by contractors/ agencies, including marketing and customer success.
Utilize data to identify potential issues with projects
Handle special projects and ad hoc incoming requests
Represent the CEO when needed
Lead special projects for the CEO that don’t fit neatly within our current structure
Monitor and support strategic priorities across the company, and “roll up your sleeves” were necessary to support and partner with internal teams (e.g., helping a team solve a key business problem)
Required Skills
TLDR: A San Francisco based super star with 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, business operations, or product management.
Fast-learning, humble, high growth mindset, and with experience delivering results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Expert Excel user. SQL is preferred.
Ability to work cross-functionally, across all levels; ability to coordinate across teams on multi-disciplinary projects, and to identify and solve gaps in the work plan
Skilled at anticipating issues and able to see around corners for CEO
Strategic thinker with a strong grasp of business fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and the ability to conduct research and synthesize learnings (e.g., different ways that other companies approach a certain issue)
Strong project/program management skills, highly-organized with high attention to detail, a strong executor (you are great at ensuring the trains run on time)
Process-minded with the ability to create, improve, and maintain repeatable processes that enable scale
Move very quickly and welcomes ambiguity
This is a San Francisco based position. You are required to work from our SF HQ 3 days weekly.
You need to have the proper work authorization – we don’t sponsor work visa unfortunately.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in an early stage startup (series C or earlier).
Experience working with a remote or distributed team is highly preferred.
Experience and passion in sustainability, environmental science and logistics industry is strongly preferred.
Experience working in a metrics and experimentation driven organization.
